I've been thinking quite a bit about #purityspirals . In addition to the obvious way it fits current social interactions, it also explains why people are so unwilling to face the fact that we are *all* roughly the same to blame for our situation on the planet. (Most everything comes from oil. Deep supply chain items like an iPhone are likely one of the deepest supply chain items out there. But there is a wide array of negative externalities and resources behind deep supply chains besides oil).
