(Apple’s own notes make it sound like the Home Screen app is riddled with security flaws and securing it to allow for interactions with other browser engines would take years. Not sure their PR intended to throw their own engineers under the bus like that but, OTOH, they just did that to the Safari team by walking back the PWA features they worked hard on.)
