A question I saw today: "Why does society place income caps on disabled people but not on billionaires?"
The answer is as simple as it is unsettling: our society still, despite all efforts to the contrary, equates wealth with virtue. The narrative of prosperity being the result of hard work and good character (which, in an ideal world, would in fact be true!) is extremely toxic in a system where it is a lie -- as it is under capitalism.
