I haven't had any issues with ShakePay. I've been trying them out about a year now.
I like the fact that they give you cashback in Satoshi.
I don't really participate in the shaking your phone for Satoshi thingy or any of the other things they have.
I usually try other apps and I like ShakePay the most because it's simple and not full of popups or shitcoins like CDC app or other exchanges.
Of course. I don't go and keep all my money on their app or transfer thousands of dollars because that's the when the problems start. I've heard some customers stories about them.
Unfortunately we do need them because they are onboarding the sheep into Bitcoin. It's a good way for the sheep to test and get comfortable with Bitcoin up until a time where they can self custody their own Bitcoin.
Up here in Canada many Canadians are a bit slow to new technology and they need guidance
but overall their reviews are good and my experience has been good so far.
