Shapiro and his co-author #NunoPreguiça envisioned #CFRD as the building block of a new generation of P2P collaboration tools that weren't exactly serverless, but which also didn't rely on servers as the lynchpin of their operation. They published a technical paper that, while exiting, was largely drowned out by the release of #GoogleDocs (based on technology built by a company that Google bought, not something Google made in-house).
