when you deal with a certain kind of abuse your whole life, your mind is trained and strengthened in certain ways. someone who never had to deal with that is mentally flabby and blissfully unawares in an entire constellation of cognitive and social skillsets
it may be enraging that they don't even have to be aware of the struggle
but it also makes *you* unaware of something. something that, on examination, is deeply embarrassing for them: they can be easily hoodwinked conned and victimized in simple cringe ways that you can spot a mile off and not even pay the slightest mental workload on. your cognitive musculature is in full swing and it is effortless for you. while they fall into these weak traps and become deeply enmired and then it gets a lot worse from there for them. all playing off cognitive weaknesses that are, well, appalling in their ineptitude
