Mastodon safety: do NOT answer personal questions in post replies -- where you live, who you live with, what you do, where you go, etc. -- it might be the beginning of a scam.

I've seen several of these in the past weeks. Replies that seem out of place, inordinately familiar or friendly, use of alluring profile photos, questions not really related or relevant to the posting. Be on guard for red flags like these.

Report, mute, and block suspected scam attempts.
