The 68020 didn’t have an integrated (on chip) MMU (this was introduced in the 68030) and had to rely on either Motorola’s 68851 PMMU or, in the case of Sun 3 systems, Sun‘s custom MMU implementation. The 68030 was only used in the Sun 3x series, which required a different SunOS kernel.",
