I don't know enough about displays to say if it has anything to do with temporal dithering, but LCDs/LEDs (haven't worked up the courage to stare at an old CRT yet) have caused enough damage to my eyes that I've been forced to switch to e-ink and projectors(!) (the latter not causing me issues has been a godsend) over the past few months.
So put me down for "sympathetic" to health concerns. But obviously you gotta prioritize what makes sense for your users at large, not necessarily an unlucky fraction of them.
