They are very easy to grow. They are spring ephemerals and will go dormant by early summer so generally watering isn't a problem unless you have an unusually dry spring. I'd say go for it. You do want to get the bulbs planted in fall, after it gets chilly but before the ground freezes. They need the cold period to set their internal clocks.
