I know I’m not a big zapper (I usually only zap a sat, unless I find something particularly valuable to my life), but I zap everything I would normally like on other social media platforms.

I would zap more, but when you are a father of 4, in a household of 6, with the income we have, we are lucky that we have Bitcoin as a possible (if it goes up 10-20x in the next 5-10 years) “last Hail Mary” because we are screwed, if not. Since COVID, things have been really hard.

Sad to be in this situation considering I was CPU mining Bitcoin in 2010-2011. Of course, I did this instead of SETI@HOME and then my grandpas laptop got lost over the years. Had to have at least 500 Bitcoin in that drive’s wallet.dat. I try to just not think about it. Crazy how much different my life would be with that 500BTC in a wallet still. Of course I would have sold some over the years and lost them to Satoshi Dice (damn you, Erik, you got me way back then!! Didn’t know what I had) but maybe I’d still have 5-10 left over after all of the risky behavior in the beginning.

Anyway, I was digressing; I loved the idea of the tipping bots on Twitter over the past decade, but I’m really loving Nostr and the community feeling like home. It’s so cool to know almost everyone here knows at least a bit about crypto and privacy and everybody is just into all the things I am into as well. Glad we have Nostr as a last bastion of hope in an endless ocean of centralized billion-dollar data stores.
