This time: Ziggy Elman's solo on "And The Angels Sing." Benny Goodman band.
Some music reviewer in maybe 1948 described him as "going into odd 6/8 rhythm" in the first part of the solo where he tries to evoke a klezmerish folkdance beat.
Every reviewer or liner-notes-writer since has repeated this. It's horseshit. It's not 6/8, it's regular old 4/4 broken into {123}{123}{12}. Eight eighth notes.
