Rick (npub1qw3…qe66) I think the appeal of defeatism is that it comes in a package with effortless hope: what my enemies are doing is so destructive that they'll be consumed no matter what happens, so I don't need to fight them.
But the survivors can always drop the destructive ideas. "Now that the white people are all dead, I appreciate the value of hard work. Let's all create a new protestant worth ethic!" The hope is a lie: good ideas may seem inevitable (unless a great disaster nearly wipes out humanity and resets civilization, like in the actual history of the world), but your family isn't an idea, your family needs to survive for you to win, and that takes effort.
