Since we ran the server, we used to log all of the stats and we had a parser that would upload everything into a SQL server, and then I had a local website that let all the players in the office check their stats. Had some dumb awards that we gave out each week.
The Zorro award for whoever got the most Knife kills etc.
All of that was possible because we hosted a server and cobbled together some nonsense.
That is something entirely missing from modern multiplayer games :(
