- not getting to see the working environment for no good reason
- going into an “agile” teams area containing two dozen people and it’s as quiet as the grave
- interviewing for from-memory deep knowledge of the implementation of parts of the JRE
- having to sign up to a” training bond” as party of your permanent contract that requires you to pay back “training” if you leave inside two years
