but the concept's been proven (i am daily driving this), so if it's a thing enough people think is a good idea then moving it forward probably means figuring out the right interfaces/abstractions to make this work generically across multiple WiFi chipsets and to let applications communicate the details of their connections instead of hard-coding the notification server settings.
