In less than a week Zimbabweans became 40% poorer thanks to this devaluation which happened after being promised that the currency was going to appreciate against the dollar since it was “gold backed”. Some fell for the scam hook, line and sinker because they failed to understand the real problem which is gvt managed money.
Backing a fiat currency with gold or even #bitcoin makes zero sense because the people running the monetary system, as history as shown, will always print more money that exceeds whatever reserves they have. #Bitcoin or slavery folks, no to USD in any form (that includes stablecoins).
