Hi RickiTik (thought I'd try that out. Not sure I love it. Reckon I got away with it without anyone noticing though...)! That sounds... AMAZING! I did a vote today and am feeling weird and unsettled but largely positive. Attempting to watch the election night coverage but it is BORING except the dogs at polling station stuff I quite like. Just me and little tonight so she made me go to to the shops with her to get snacks. However because I'm always in and out of the shop and am friendly with everyone (where we used to live I knew everyones name, which is beyond weird in England), we were accosted by one of the shelf stackers (who we've reached the calling each other 'mate' stage) who was distraught because he's facing a disciplinary next week for an incident that happened yesterday. Apparently a woman tried to steal some alcohol so he grabbed her (dude!) whereupon she raked his face with her nails so he's all messed up but has also worked there for 13 years and felt angry and confused he's not being supported for defending the shop (grabbing a woman) and wanted a friendly face to get this all out to. So. That was apparently me, whilst my 13yo watched on horrified, holding her Haribo and just wanting it to end. I think I dealt with it well and gave him some comfort whilst also reinforcing that you don't grab women under any circumstances - particularly when security isn't your job. Weird moment, dealt with well, and 13 seemed a bit in awe that he wanted to share it with me. So that all just happened.
