If you want to understand why the French language is struggling to become more inclusive, just ask French people if "GameBoy" is masculine or feminine? "Console" is feminine, so many people say "La GameBoy" because it's "La console GameBoy" but "Game" and "Boy" are both masculine names in French.
Same with "Nutella", in italian it's feminine, but a lot of people insist that it's masculine. Ferrero omits any pronoun from their marketing, treating it like a first name. So the debate rages on...!
