The problem with this is medical expenses are limited. You must exceed 7.5% of adjusted gross income, then your total itemized deductions more than the standard deduction ( $14,600 single or $29,200 married filing joint), otherwise you don’t get a benefit.

While it sounds good to say, you’re probably not getting anything but conversation.

While your gym membership may meet the criteria as a medical expense so you it is deductible. When you run the numbers, you don’t actually get a benefit from this medical deduction. I’d bet most people that itemize don’t get a medical deduction.
