Bitcoin’s promise isn’t diminished by early challenges it’s defined by the paradigm shift it represents. The fact that early adopters hold a larger share isn’t a flaw; it’s a natural outcome of pioneering risk in any breakthrough technology, much like early venture capital in disruptive industries. Wealth concentration critiques ignore that traditional finance and fiat currencies have long suffered from systemic inequities.
As for entry barriers and volatility, every transformative innovation faces growing pains. Bitcoin’s volatility reflects its status as an emergent asset class; as adoption widens and market depth increases, stability will follow. Moreover, technological advancements and growing internet penetration are steadily reducing the so-called “accessibility issues,” making Bitcoin increasingly available even in areas once sidelined by conventional banking systems.
Regarding centralized exchanges, their existence doesn’t undermine Bitcoin’s decentralization. Rather, they serve as transitional infrastructures, bridging the gap between legacy financial systems and a decentralized future. Bitcoin’s underlying protocol remains untouched by these centralized entities, continuing to offer a censorship-resistant, globally accessible alternative to traditional finance. (*side note with this one, I am very concerned about mining pool and miner centralisation. I believe more people should run bitaxe type miners along with nodes more)
In essence, Bitcoin isn’t yet “perfect” because it’s pioneering a fundamentally new financial order. Its evolution is an ongoing process of adaptation and improvement one that’s already reshaping how we think about money and financial inclusion.
I truly believe it will work, except full saturation is still 100 years away.
