There are lots of other great articles on Nostr (like this one), but the TL;DR is that Nostr is a protocol that's doing to communication what Bitcoin did to money. To get started with Nostr, you'll need to use a client. Here are some that I recommend:

When you create your account, you'll receive a Private Key and a Public Key. As with Bitcoin, DO NOT SHARE YOUR PRIVATE KEY WITH ANYONE! You may share your Public Key, however, since that's how people will find you and follow you.
