Wow. I knew the Amazon river was big, but I just looked it up properly. It's 18% of GLOBAL outflow from all rivers to the ocean, five times bigger by volume than the next biggest river. The Amazon basin is about 5% of all the land, so it really is disproportionately wet. Impressed.
