My parents had a traditional gender defined marriage. My dad worked outside the home, my mom stayed home and was the primary caregiver for 10 kids.

But my mom and dad did not vote together. And that fact was known - they joked they had a mixed marriage. My dad was a traditional R, my mom an independent lean D.

I feel so sad that there are women today that don’t feel the same freedom my mom did 60 years ago.
