I'm going to lose my mind at you fucking treatlers.

People are like 'man, Netflix used to be so good! you could get every movie and show on there for $8 a month!'

So, you want 5 devices streaming, 4k streaming, and practically every show EVER listed for just $8? That's what people are asking for? That's fucking crazy. Cable TV, WITH adverts costs way more per month.

There are many reasons. That server infrastructure probably wont be sustainable for just 8$ a month.

Secondly, the reason Netflix was so cheap back then was they were able to get many licenses dirt cheap. Nobody knew the value back then. Now everybody knows the true value of Netflix, you'll never get all the library back in one place. It's impossible.

I'm sorry, that's LITERALLY unsustainable. You can't have that. Sorry! You just can't. It's an impossible, unfeasible expectation. I'm sorry your hopes were unfairly raised by a temporary period of bliss. I really am. But that's impossible.

The real solution is to turn away from these unsustainable method's and go back to buying stuff show by show. Like a Movie? Watch it in Cinema. Out of Cinema? Buy the blu-ray. Like a TV series? Buy the box set. This gives way more money to the creator and you access to the media forever, that you can sell later if you wish, or give to a friend.

It goes without saying the current model is extremely bad for paying out creators, Crunchyroll, Spotify, Netflix, all pay pennies to actual creators.

In the past? People just bought CD's. You could copy cassettes to give to friends. I guarantee, 1 friend buying a cassette and copying it to two other friends still makes MORE money for the artist than those three friends all paying for Spotify and streaming that artist there.

Same goes for movies, TV and anime. Much of our current internet infrastructure is built of pillars of salt and sand. Unsustainable, unfeasible and unstable. With a worse deal for the Artists AND the consumer.
