One effect of how much the far-right has put itself in a discourse bubble (and the drift of Twitter has only made this worse) is that they've convinced themselves of an America that quite literally doesn't exist, with villainous plots that are entirely pretend, and then build their messaging around the assumption that everyone else suffers from the same warped epistemology. It's like arguing politics with someone who is throughly convinced they live in Middle Earth.
