Can I persuade it not to? People don’t lie for no reason, generally. But trying to understand LLMs is surely only made more complicated by thinking in terms of intent.
(If it was clearly understood as a metaphor then that’d be a different matter. We talk about ordinary programs as if they had intent. But the hype about LLMs being intelligent has muddied the waters.)
