I got bitten by a slug once. True story!
I was packing my suitcase the night before a trip. In that house, we used to get slugs coming in through the back door if it was left open. One had come a long way into the room before I noticed him. I was already rather tired and I didn't fancy taking him all the way out until I next had to go back out to take stuff to the car, so on the spur of the moment I picked up the slug and put him on the back of my forearm.
