As long as founders retain more than half the equity, why does it matter if an opensource project takes VC money?
I'm currently raising money to build an opensource framework (with a monetization product built on top obviously), but that's so I can hire engineers full time and move faster. In exchange, VC gets a 20% stake. That seems like a fair value?
