1) The tools being hyped as "AI" rn are boring, cringe, wasteful, and capable of harm.
2) "Stopping AI" means deepening the ongoing war on general purpose computation. It is simply not winnable with anything less than total statism and/or permanent infrastructural collapse.
As usual the Left inherits from liberalism a tendency to reactively point at shit in the broadest terms and go "ban that!!" then pretends innocence when the only possible methods are monstrous and the company is villainous.
