Huh, it's kinda surprising that I'm hanging out on the public timeline more than before (at least on this instance). I think I get the appeal of using Mastodon for creating a local community now. People new to an instance have people to hang out with even without a curated home timeline (empty) or global timeline (laissez-faire).
