Well, until blockchain tech takes over and DEcentralises all industries, all you can do is choose between suscribe or not. At the end it's just TV, if you pay for cable TV, Internet service, Phone service, etc. there's no difference paying for streaming TV. Those are all services offered by BIG TECH companies, all of them 🤷🏻♂️
What I do is, whenever there is something interesting streaming in any service, I subscribe for 1 month, watch whatever I wanted to watch, then unsubscribe when I'm done... The beauty of streaming services is that you can sub. and unsub. seamlessly at will and without tedious paperwork... you don't have to keep paying every month, just re-subscribe whenever there is something you want to watch and that's it 🤷🏻♂️
Another choice would be Apple TV, where you still have the option to just rent a single movie, like good old times 👌🏼 Don't know if there are other services that offer this. Might be.
