Sounds like quite the adventure.
You'd think there would be projects dedicated to that sort of hardware given how common it was in that time period. Seems like it would be something PicoGUS or similar would have but maybe not enough of those sticks survived to make it worth anyone's time.
Personally, if it's for gaming on older hardware I would just run it on an isolated non-networked system with an OS from that time period and not worry about modern OS support.
