The media coverage of the super-reflective white completely misses the point. You lower your cooling demand by increasing the albedo of your *house*, not the planet. Less air conditioning, less energy consumption. It's easy to laugh at the prospect of painting a desert, but the idea of using it for urban environments is fundamentally sound.
