what are your guys' opinion on tablets? Most of them are basically big smartphone, especially the ones running android are underpowered but the high end ones that have a lot of juice are nerfed by their OS.
Personally, I can see why they've survived this long as a form factor. Big screen + lighter than a laptop, easy to consume content on and the powerful chips allows for a place to draw and take notes. I'd rather just have a laptop that folds or disconnects screen and have ability to do everything I do on my computer on this device that way less need for a third middle ground option when one option can do two things.
Google home hub is a good implementation imo, it has a detachable tablet that's also a google assistant. Good for in the kitchen doing quick calc (short for calculation if anyone is new here) and recipe haver. Much better than a fridge running on wifi and refusing to log onto pornhub.com. I'd say, tablets are nice, not really something to give your kids, just put a family computer in the living room for everyone to use that way they're less likley to start texting random ngas on the internet or search up pay gorn when you're not around because eveyrone uses it. I used to have a family computer at my house as a kid and it was a nice thing to have, even though you were on the internet. becaus tyour're in the living room you're not disconnected from family as much as if you have your own computer or tablet to take to your bedroom and just rot away. I do understand why you need personal computer in this day and age though. One family computer just isn't gonna cut it anymore when homeworks are online, having more than one kid just kills the ability to have that synergy anymore.
Anyway tablet is nice and all but I'd rather get something like the surface pro which is a laptop with a tablet form factor.
