The remnants of the Emerald Chain entered an armistice with the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Now, at least one Orion is a cadet at the newly reopened Starfleet Academy.
🔸 The Orion Starfleet cadet is named Harral. He is a young -- possibly in his mid to late teens, male Orion. His skin is a deep kelly green color, with yellow undertones. His pupils appear to be a deeper shade of green than his skin, and his hair color is brown or a greenish brown depending on the lighting. I cannot discern the color of his sclera.
🔸 As an Orion, Harral is aware of the shadow the Emerald Chain casts on him. He is discomfited by the assumption of his complicity with the pre-armistice Emerald Chain just because he is Orion. Harral is the first time it is shown that not every Orion supported the actions and activities of the Emerald Chain.
🔸 There is further confirmation that not all Orions supported the Emerald Chain. Harral's father was Bashorat Harral, an Orion activist who put forth an Emancipation Bill to free the slaves of the Emerald Chain. Bashorat Harral died while a political prisoner of the Emerald Chain, but his Emancipation Bill was made part of the armistice between the Chain and the UFP after his death.
🔸 Cadet Harral's father told him that as an Orion Harral had a greater responsibility to speak out against what the Emerald Chain was doing. The Emerald Chain was a syndicate of Orions and Andorians, but so far it seems as if Orions held more, if not most of, the power in that coalition.
