recently i watched a late-90s anime called "buttobi! cpu" and it was funny because when the main character wanted to buy a computer there was a girl who said "oh you're only doing it to play '同棲エッチゲーム'" as if that were the only reason to own a computer. also the villains are evil personifications of macintosh computers who talk in funny accents whose missions are to take over the japanese pc market which is still a relevant topic today (although not really in the same way). it feels like i was the exact target audience for it
