I’ve just finished reading the book “The Mastermind” and although Paul le Roux was a genius coder, I don’t think he was Satoshi for the following reasons.
- Terrible OPSEC compared to Satoshi
- Notoriously high time preference
- Most of the events that would have shown the need for something like #Bitcoin didn’t happen until after 2010
- Writing style in emails and in person communication is vastly different fundamentally.
Le Roux certainly needed something like Bitcoin to move his profits around the world without the physical downsides of gold or trusted 3rd party issues, of which he encountered both. It just wasn’t until later in his career.
Could he have been Satoshi? Maybe, but it doesn’t appear that way based on what I’ve read.
