I'm only about a third of the way through it but I highly recommend this book. It contains a lot of dead simple advice that you probably learned in middle school but then never thought about again.

It's about how to read legacy code with actionable advice that (correctly) assumes you can't just wreck havoc on somebody else's code like other books I've read on the matter recently do.
