Yes read LoTR some years ago. I’m actually thinking I need to go back to the Hobbit again this year, though it is a much shorter read. Wheel of Time series is about the longest run I’ve had, 14 books I think, but that was over a few years. Not heard of Gormenghast, sounds like you struggled with that much as I did with game of thrones, was a real struggle so I put it down on book two and never picked it back up.
