I wish it were more normal for companies to take half a day each month to revisit what would be considered 'basics' in Software Engineering.
Not only do the 'basics' change with time, but one can forget or simply never have been exposed to them!
Like, I have never heard of an internal course about the tools we are using (and how we are using them). I know that just 2-3 hours of focused time on a single topic can compound quickly to unlock better understanding of whatever is covered.
I am mainly thinking about something like git, GitLab, console, various libraries used in the projects one works on.
