These tools are a game changer. I use perplexity deep research a lot.
Regarding CPI, we've known it's a scam for years and the government apologists (media/economists) don't care.
Personally to measure inflation I've been using unofficial proxies like ShadowStats, M2 or a custom index that includes energy, shelter, food (meat), and median wage.
