The only way to end homelessness is to make homes affordable again and we can’t do that as long as our money is broken.
Bitcoin can fix this problem.
Wealthy people buy homes to store their wealth because the US dollar does not work anymore as a proper store of value.
There are 11 million year-around vacant homes and 582,000 homeless people in US or 19 empty homes for every homeless person.
Housing is now acting as money and its price goes up because it not only represents the value of providing shelter but it also represents the value of storing your wealth.
This is called the monetary premium and it makes homes more expensive.
As a builder, what would you rather build, an affordable homes that is priced purely for shelter; or a luxury home that is priced with a monetary premium and attracts those looking for a new way to park their savings?
Homes shouldn’t be a store of value.
Homes are shelters but as long as the official money is broken, the housing market will continue to go up, making itself less and less affordable for anyone but the 1%.
The solution is to go back to sound money. Money that works as a store of value.
That is why Bitcoin is so important.
It is the only sound money available today and only when we embrace Bitcoin we will eliminate the monetary premium on housing, making them affordable again.
