If I argue/disagree with you, the only thing that will make me like you less in most cases is that I think you like me less. If I somehow get the sense you’re entirely fine with me then I won’t like you less at all, and if I think you like me despite our disagreement I will like you more!

… not that all the people who argue with me feel the same. That’s alright, you can dislike me, I forgive you.
