🎧 Recalled this morning a Saturday night in 1975 and the "date" I'd arranged with a guycrush in HS. Both of us were publicly hetero.
I drove, and he suggested we go to the river "to hang out." I had beer. We parked at the end of a country road overlooking the Neuse.
After a couple Miller ponies each and not much conversation, he boldly demonstrated the attraction *was mutual while "Young Americas" played on the 8-track. I recall that night, without fail, each time I hear the song. ❤️
