"content": "you need a running MacOS to do the initial install of Asahi, Asahi actually installs a stripped down MacOS for recovery (and to convince the boot chain that it's a bootable OS), and AFAIK at least one partition on the NVMe is required to stay to load part of the bootloader.\n\nWith a completely formatted disk you can't even get to the boot picker.",
