lately i’ve been seeing a lot of beings on here concerned with privacy and potentially getting doxxed/outed from being on pedi. i just want to say that it really isn’t a concern as long as you’re not deliberately publicizing identifying information about yourself out here (legal name, face, location, etc). take it from someone who’s witnessed many doxxing over the course of being here, this is often how individuals have been able to get doxxed in the first place. i never heard of an incident where a map/yap community member got doxxed from an anti hacking or whatnot. moreover, pediverse is a niche community; hardly anyone outside of map/yap community circles know it exists. especially if you’re not openly engaging in illegal activity, most antis won’t care to target you.

i’ve known yaps/maps who have been mass targeted on larger and more public platforms like twitter, yet none of their information had been leaked. it’s an understandable concern to have, but i hope fears of getting doxxed are not preventing you from being in map/yap community circles when you want to be. just be diligent about what you share (even to your friends, it can be weaponized against you unfortunately) and have good security measures like using VPNs.
