I'm tired of not saying anything about this, so here it is: The VR community WaterWolf is not a safe space.
It has long harbored right-wingers of all stripes, who have openly said heinous things from ableism to contempt for the poor and, indeed, often outright Trump support, only to be protected from consequences by the community's co-founder, Isaac, whose own right-wing beliefs have led him to carve out a space where talking about "politics" is expressly forbidden.
For my money, way too many of us in the furry fandom are facing the very real threat of losing rights for decades and having our lives materially harmed or destroyed for me to buy this "can't we all just overlook politics and get along" bullshit.
Sure, I go into VR to escape the harsh reality I live in, but I do not go there to coexist with the very people who helped create that reality, whose hate I struggle against daily. At a time like this, I want to escape to a place where I know the people damn well have my back.
