On topic though: I try to separate artist and art. I listen to music that got people killed and some historic buildings burnt down in the 90s. Two of the genres most famous bands had one kill the guitarist of the other. That stuff.
I probably wouldn't like them or agree with many of my favorite artists on most things anyway.
