It's an interesting question though: why is it that the #Fediverse seems less toxic than both #BlueSky and #X?

I think at least two factors are at play:

#BlueSky is less decentralized than the #Fediverse, and is marketed more as "people who hate X"
The #Fediverse doesn't have any algorithmic feeds. While algorithmic feeds can increase engagement, that also means they can promote mindless groups of hordes as well that snowball into digital group-on-group fights.
